Historic Tanner House Available For Sale in Frankfort
624 Logan Street

$44.900

The historic Tanner House is available for purchase for $44,900 (New price!) from the Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation.  This is one of the earliest houses built in the southeast section of South Frankfort.  Built around 1870, it has 2028 sq. ft. of space divided into four large rooms, two above and two below with an entrance hall and a one-story kitchen and bathroom behind the entrance hall.  The house is structurally sound and needs general upgrading and rehab, including a new roof and gutters, window repair or replacement, bathroom enlargement, new furnace, wiring upgrade, porch repair, plaster repair and/or removal and new walls.  Removal of the non-original exterior siding should be considered.

The Tanner House is located on a low traffic street of restored and well-maintained bungalows and Craftsman-style one and two story homes built in the early 20th century, and is within a half block of the Capitol grounds. Applications for federal and state historic preservation tax credits for this house have already been approved by the Department of the Interior and the Kentucky Heritage Council.

To arrange a visit or to obtain more information about the house and the tax credits, contact Bob Polsgrove, President of the Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation at 502-875-1223 or Polsgrove@aol.com.
